"My favorite part about traveling is experiencing other cultures and meeting people from completely different backgrounds than my own. I loved our Hi Love trip to Harbor Island in The Bahamas. We got to meet locals who I never would have met otherwise, and I loved hearing their stories. My favorite place I have ever been to is Sevilla, Spain where I studied abroad for the summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school. Living in another country with a host family really helped me to improve my Spanish and learn to adapt to new routines and cultural norms that were different from my own. Because of how young we all were and how scary but exciting this type of experience can be, the people on my trip became like family. Having to throw ourselves into something so new and vulnerable was only possible because we all were thrown into it together and that changed our lives! I highly recommend CIEE for any students studying abroad because it really changes lives!"
